🎙️ Episode 21 — One Step at a Time
Trading the Pressure to Know for the Peace to Trust
Hello, beautiful friend, and welcome back to another episode of Strength Exchanged. 🎙️🤍
I'm so grateful you're here.
Maybe today you're standing somewhere between what God has already done and what you are still waiting for Him to do.
And perhaps you're asking:
“God, where are You taking me?”
“Am I making the right decision?”
“What is going to happen next?”
I want to remind you of something today:
You don't need to know the whole road to take the next step.
Proverbs 3:5 says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
Notice that Scripture doesn't say, “Understand everything.”
It says, trust.
Sometimes we want God to give us the entire map before we're willing to move.
But faith doesn't always work that way.
Sometimes God gives you enough light for the step you're standing on.
Enough grace for today.
Enough strength for this moment.
And then He asks you to trust Him with tomorrow.
Maybe you've been putting pressure on yourself because you don't know what comes next.
Maybe you're waiting for clarity.
Maybe you're afraid that if you don't have everything figured out, you're somehow falling behind.
Beautiful friend, you are not behind when you are walking with God.
You may not know the destination.
But you know the One who does.
And that changes everything.
Today we're trading the pressure to know for the peace to trust.
We're trading control for surrender.
We're trading fear of tomorrow for faith for today.
And we're trading the question, “What if everything goes wrong?”
for the truth:
“What if God is already going before me?”
You don't have to carry tomorrow today.
There is grace for this step.
There is grace for this moment.
And there is grace for the road ahead.
So take a breath.
Release the need to have every answer.
Open your hands.
And whisper:
“Jesus, I trust You with the next step.”
Maybe the next step feels small.
Maybe it doesn't look significant.
But obedience doesn't have to look impressive to be sacred.
One step.
Then another.
And another.
Until one day you look back and realise that God was faithful through every single step.
That's the beautiful thing about the exchange.
We give Him our fear of the unknown…
and He gives us His peace.
We give Him our need for control…
and He gives us the freedom to trust.
We give Him our uncertainty…
and He reminds us that He is certain.
So, beautiful friend, if you're listening today and you don't know what comes next, don't panic.
You don't have to.
Just ask:
“Jesus, what is my next faithful step?”
And then take it.
Not because you know everything.
But because you know Him.
Keep walking.
Keep trusting.
Keep surrendering.
And remember:
The God who has carried you this far will not abandon you on the road ahead.
Let's pray.
Father, thank You that we don't have to understand everything to trust You. Help us release our need for control and surrender the future into Your hands. Give us courage for the next step, grace for today, and peace when we cannot see what lies ahead. Teach us to walk by faith and not by sight. Remind us that You are already in our tomorrow. We trust You, Jesus. One step at a time. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Beautiful friend, whatever you're facing today, you don't need the whole map. You just need to trust the One holding it.
