The eyes have
incredible powers
Blink!!
Blink
and in a
split second
the whole world is gone
enveloped in flesh curtains
that hide every vision
of all that surrounds
engulfing the soul
in a mini-escape
that can also be prolonged
by leaving the
lids closed
on the trash that insists
on invading your day
but don't close them up too long
lest the dreams slip right into
more new views to peruse
just distortions of what
daily you wish you had
and beware of the wild beasts
you might end up riding
through the starry night skies
adhered by sheer sweat to the
heaving backsides of a
fast moving nightmare
that is bucking and tossing
jaws clenching... teeth gritting
on a restless adventure
that seems never to end
till you wake up again
next time
Wink!!
throw your charm
at a lovely young lady
and perhaps while one eye
does the dance that sets moods
she'll return you a big smile
then with a smack of her lips
she might strike up a chat
in reaction you'll blink
thinking this can't be true
then you'll close your eyes briefly
giving yourself a pinch
to be sure your not dreaming
then when you look again
you will see her face beaming
and know this is no nightmare
and together you'll wind up
sharing butterfly kisses
all four eyes batting pleasure
the world looking much better
the eyes have it you see
those windows to your soul
bring escape...set you free
