It is truly comforting to study this pastoral letter, by God through the writing of Paul, that explains the benefit believers receive through the grace of God who is faithful and cannot lie (2 Tim 2:13). God’s children should expect good from Him as He promised to strengthen and establish them in their sanctification. Furthermore, believers are encouraged by God's people in prayer and fellowship, understanding that it is God who holds them up and He who prevents them from falling (Ps 17:5). Lastly, Christians are compelled to take refuge in God, like David (Ps 16:1), who become fixed on the everlasting hope and confidence in the Lord in His promises to protect from evil in the face of real persecution.
