I sat down with friend and native Angelino, George Sandler, who educated me about the Los Angeles' deep donut history. There are a plethora of donut shops of LA, and I needed to get to the bottom of why there are so many here. George told me about Ted Ngoy, a Cambodian immigrant who capitalized and popularized donuts in Los Angeles in the 1970s.
