The Fast Of Tevet  Part 1:  Why Do We Mourn On This Day?  -  English only.  This Friday, January 10, 2025, is the 10th of Tevet. It is a day traditionally observed with mourning and fasting in commemoration of the destruction of both Solomon's Temple and the Second Temple. The fast is observed from Friday sunrise to sunset.  While it is clear why we fast in remembrance of the day that the Temple was destroyed, it raises a question.
