Merry Cyprianmas, dear hearts! In honour of Cyprian of Antioch, infamous patron saint of necromancings, we have resurrected a big old extended episode from the RFG crypts of unpublished recordings, celebrating the Sorcerer Saint Cipriano! Along the boneyard way we sing the praises of the mineral Jet, the herb Asafoetida aka Devil's Dung, the geomantic figure Cauda Draconis and the Odu Ogunda, the Major Arcana The Magician, the magics of Grimoires, and the devil Hael and the Exu of Quimbanda - the spirit said to have taught Cyprian his black magics - Exu Meia Noite. Salve!

We recorded this Cyprianmas episode back in 2018. One of the reasons this one has laid in deathless slumber, awaiting reanimation, for so long was a disconcerting shift in sound quality between the two sessions in which it was recorded; the first half of the episode was captured live, the second over the interwebs. In fact, you might notice our sudden shift towards various indeterminable continental accents in the Sean Connery sibilants (we decided to favor the lithp rather than be inaudible). Perhaps the Sorcerer Saint reminds even your esteemed hosts to never take themselves too seriously….

But mostly, we are again incredibly grateful to Mark Steadman for his excellent sound wizardry in making this 'cast as listenable a pod as possible out of our old bad recording habits! Other than spruced up sound, we have decided to chop up this resurrected zombie of an episode as little as possible and present as is, was, and shall be. We hope you don't miss the new theme tune too much.

Once again, the opinions expressed in these recordings are four years old at this point, and we reserve the right - like any four year-old - to abandon them in a Walmart car park if they now prove overly disagreeable or obnoxious... We sincerely hope, on this blessed Feast of Cyprian and Justina, that you find something shared, something inspiring, or simply something quite interesting in our resuscitated breath, banter, and bones to pick. May looking over your old work inspire you to new; and if you’re lucky (like us!), with a lithp.
