Dearly beloved congregation of our Lord Jesus Christ, our sermon tonight is on a rather short text. We're going to look at Passover's less-famous cousin, the feast of unleavened bread. What is this feast? Well, it is a week-long period when Israel eats no leaven. Part of the origin of this feast is the haste with which we left Egypt. We were unable to take the time to let our bread rise, so we made it without yeast. But prior to that historical reality stands the command of God, who insisted from the beginning that we had to have a week-long leaven-free festival. The point of this festival is really quite simple: because you are the people God delivered from Egypt, don't bring Egypt with you!
