There is a deep-rooted reason that should serve as the motivation for all Christian charity: Christ generously died for us, so the least we can do is to be generous with our own lives. Knowing God, and being safe in His Son is not the end - it's the beginning of a life of kindness and good works. Anyone who claims to be a Christian needs to understand that true faith turns your priorities inside out. From self-interested to caring for others. From inwardly self-absorbed to outwardly generous. God doesn't save us because of our charity. We express charity because God has saved us!
