  • Why Your Life Needs Seasonal Planning

What if the reason your plans keep falling apart isn't that you're bad at planning?

What if you're planning as though every month of the year is going to give you the same amount of time, energy and capacity?

    Because it isn't.

In this episode, I'm introducing the idea of seasonal life planning — looking at the whole year and recognising that some months are predictably harder than others, while some give you more space to breathe, get things done and actually enjoy your life.

I look at the different seasons and cycles that affect my own year, including perimenopause, school holidays, work, Christmas, my daughter's recurring hospital stays and the particular joys of trying to meet the needs of two children who have completely different ideas about what summer should look like.

I also talk about what happened when my own plans for this year didn't go according to plan — because seasonal planning isn't about creating a beautifully organised year and then pretending life won't happen. It's about understanding your patterns well enough to plan with them, rather than constantly fighting against them.

And once you can see the heavier months coming, you can start asking a much more useful question:

What can I do now to make that difficult season easier?

📓 My Bullet Journal Planning Templates

  • Not Today, The Art Of Letting Things Go

Sometimes the answer to overwhelm isn't getting better at doing everything.

Sometimes it's deciding that some things simply aren't happening today.

When your brain is running at 360 miles an hour and you're looking at a hundred things you could, should, ought to or want to be doing, it is very easy to end up overwhelmed, paralysed and feeling like you're failing at all of it. And then, naturally, you go looking for productivity hacks and somehow emerge two hours later with another twenty things on your to-do list. Excellent. Just what we needed. 😂

In this episode, I'm giving you permission to stop doing things. We talk about the difference between a to-do list and my beloved ta-da list, outsourcing decisions when your brain has stopped braining, externalising the thoughts and decisions taking up space in your head, body doubling, regulating your nervous system according to what you actually need, letting go of perfectionism, and why partially done is often much better than not done at all.

And then we get to my favourite one: the Not Today list.

Because when you are overwhelmed, the answer isn't necessarily to become more disciplined, more efficient or better organised. Sometimes you need to look honestly at your energy, capacity and real-life constraints and decide what is simply not going to happen today.

That isn't failure. It's planning around reality.

If you've ever looked at your to-do list and felt overwhelmed before you've even started, struggled with decision fatigue, found yourself procrastinating because everything feels like too much, or spent your precious downtime scrolling because your brain desperately wants to escape, this episode is for you.

The Feminine Duality is a podcast for midlife women who know this new chapter of life has so much more to offer; if they could only stop feeling so overwhelmed, burnt out, dispassionate and fed up. Here we talk all things burnout, nervous-system-friendly time management, perimenopause, midlife self-image, identity, boundaries and creating a life that works with your capacity rather than constantly demanding more from you.

✨ If this episode resonated with you, I'd love it if you followed the podcast, left a review, or shared it with another woman who might need permission to let a few things go today.

  • Gulit & Second Guessing Your Choices

Have you ever spent weeks, months or even years wondering if you made the wrong decision?

Maybe you left a relationship. Maybe you stayed too long. Maybe you keep replaying a conversation, wondering if you should have said something different, noticed something sooner or somehow changed the outcome.

Our brains are remarkably good at turning hindsight into guilt.

In this episode I share a deeply personal story about my dad, whose alcoholism eventually took his life. For years I asked myself whether there was something I could have done differently. It wasn't until much later that I realised I'd been carrying responsibility that was never mine to carry in the first place.

In this episode we explore why guilt and second guessing can keep us stuck for years, the difference between regretting a decision and regretting reality, why hindsight makes us believe we had more control than we actually did, and the simple question that finally helped me put down a burden I'd been carrying for decades.

If you've ever found yourself lying awake thinking, "What if I'd done something differently?" this episode is for you.

The Feminine Duality is a podcast for midlife women who know this next chapter of life has so much more to offer, if they could only stop feeling so overwhelmed, burnt out, dispassionate and fed up. • Life Will Interrupt You Anyway

In a bid to follow my own advice to make space for leisure time, I decided to go out and have some fun with my family. I got up to all kinds of silly activities that a 49 year old woman should probably not engage in, at least without warming up first. 😂 Miraculously I did not injure myself and I felt amazing. The next day the universe rudely slapped me with a sprained ankle by simply standing up…

Life will interrupt you, but it’s important to remember these interruptions do not equal personal failure.

In this episode we explore the illusion of control, why life interruptions don't equal personal failure, how to build resilient systems that bend instead of break, and the identity work involved in becoming a recovering perfectionist. You'll leave with a different way of thinking about planning, priorities and adapting when life inevitably changes your plans.

The truth is that interruptions happen all the time, and how well you respond to them depends on what you make them mean about yourself. If you've ever felt like one unexpected phone call, sick child, cancelled plan or bad night's sleep completely derails your week, this episode is for you.

What if I told you testosterone isn't really about libido? In this episode, I share why I believe testosterone is one of the most misunderstood hormones in women's health. We talk about what happened when my own testosterone levels declined, why I fought to get it prescribed on the NHS, and how it helped me regain something far more important than sex drive: My lust for life.

Why So Many Women Reinvent Themselves in Midlife

Midlife is not a crisis, it is a beautiful opportunity for reinvention. But it can also be an incredibly disruptive time for women. Suddenly the life, identity and expectations you have spent decades building no longer fit in quite the same way.

In this episode I talk about the huge emotional, hormonal and identity shifts that happen during midlife, and why so many women find themselves questioning everything from relationships and careers to purpose, sensuality and who they are becoming.

From a spiritual point of view you go through your Uranus Opposition, Saturn Opposition and Chiron Return during these years, offering up a call towards greater authenticity and to heal old wounds. From a physiological perspective you experience massive fluctuations in hormone levels during this time. And, by necessity, our societal identity shifts as children grow up, relationships end and jobs change.

    • why “enough” never seems to land
