Tensions have been escalating between Ontario teachers’ unions and the Ontario government under Premier Doug Ford. There have been rolling strikes over negotiations over teachers’ contracts as the two sides spar over things like compensation and class size. This week, more than one million elementary students were affected by the first provincewide strike. Right now, there’s no clear end in sight.
