"The Final Exit" is a short story that was originally published in Star Wars Adventure Journal 4 by West End Games in November 1994. It was reprinted in The Best of the Star Wars Adventure Journal, Issues 1-4 as well as the short-story anthology Tales from the Empire. It was later archived online at Hyperspace on October 1, 2004. It was also included in a Czech-language anthology, Setkání v mlze, in 2009.

Tales from the Empire is an anthology about the Galactic Empire; the short stories were selected from the Star Wars Adventure Journal. It begins with an introduction titled "A Galaxy Filled with Stories" by Peter M. Schweighofer.
