North Sligo Athletic Club’s Chris O’Donnell becomes the first man to be accorded the Freedom of County Sligo.

He’s on the programme - as are the three North Sligo surfers who are part of the Ireland team for the Junior World Surfing championships in Peru next month.

They’re currently trying to fund their trip to South America.

And - Sligo GAA breaks new ground this Friday when the county enters a combined colleges team into the Connacht senior A colleges football championship.
