Luke 2b (the second half of Luke 2) seems to sit in the shadow of Luke 2a (the first half of Luke 2). This would not be a problem, except the chapter is a unit and is meant to build from one miracle to another. This sermon bridges the gap showing that the first miracle of Jesus being born leads to the second miracle of Jesus being born in people’s hearts. Simeon is the model for that. He tells us the meaning of Jesus.
