The commencement of this episode has now begun and we thank you for listening to Episode 55 of The First Purge! Donnie and Oscar look into the latest installment for this franchise as they find that despite the franchise title, it does not deliver. Donnie feels that the plot did not bring any unique direction and carried a strong political message that became distracting. Oscar felt that the characters for the most part did not develop or provide interesting dynamics. The movie does keep you entertained with its survival story and there are highlights throughout that stand out. Being the fourth movie in this film franchise, there were too many missed opportunities that could have made this installment unique and possibly a standout. The future of The Purge Franchise seems to be headed to TV, and the reception of this movie by Donnie and Oscar seems to indicate that the small screen might be the next best plan.
