A good story, slightly over-written

I would recommend this book. It's much better than most in the genre. However, it is a tad too long because of the endless similes employed. In the end I though that if they had been edited, the book might come out an hour or two shorter. In many cases the author doesn't stop at one. but goes on to provide two similes for the description of each thing. It becomes not only tedious, but lifts you out of the story as you begin to be distracted by the style.

But apart from that, it is quite a good book and well narrated.
