Listen Later

One of the more fearsome, but lesser known supernatural entities in South East Asia is the Penanggalan, typically described as a floating disembodied woman's head with its organs and entrails hanging from its neck. In the first story, we share a tale from Cambodia featuring the fearsome Penanggalan, in which a young man relieves himself in a dark spot, only to come face to face with the creature. In the second story, we share another story from Cambodia about a daughter travelling out at sea with her family, when she starts to hear someone calling out her name.
