Remembering Tom Petty, Arthur Janov, Ludmila Belousova
Tom Petty was the singer-songwriter who was the frontman and leader of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Originally from Gainesville, he became an international superstar, and played with everyone from Roy Orbison to Bob Dylan to George Harrison (they were all in the group The Traveling Wilburys). He and the Heartbreakers made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Arthur Janov was the psychologist and psychotherapist who developed primal therapy as a treatment for mental illness. Its devotees included John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Ludmila Belousova was the Soviet figure skater, who along with her husband, won the Gold medal at the 1964 and 1968 Olympics.
