Sami’s freelance + small biz career began in 2017 after leaving a job she loved at a company with a toxic culture. Her husband put a patch design on Etsy that she drew and they incredulously watched it sell out, taking that as a cue to do something with her artwork inspired by the outdoors! With years of experience in marketing and design, Sami launched The Unexpected Type: a full service design studio filled with adventure goodies. As it continues to grow, it's Sami’s mission to encourage others (especially women) to explore the outdoors, camp and go off-roading.
