The Loser Lover Leela: An Audio Experience // Ramleela, literally “Rama’s play”, is a performance of then Ramayana epic in a series of scenes that include song, narration, recital and dialogue. After the enactment of the legendary war between Good and Evil, the Ramleela celebrations climax on the day of Dussehra or the 10th day // Essentially, it’s a depiction of, as Joseph Campbell puts it, the heroes journey. The journey of the fool who prevails through trials and tribulations, through temptation and redemption, to his ultimate hearts desire // Cause, you see, life is, inherently, a play. A simulation. Not real. It’s purpose? To experience, to learn, to enjoy, to live it. Not being too attached, but to join the dance…. to join the play // According to the Vaishnava thought, the Supreme Being, Vishnu, has no need to create the empirical world- he just descends as an avatar (Ram) and manifests in the empirical world to "spontaneously, joyfully, disinterestedly play a part" // So, I invite you to join me in a one-of-a-kind audio experience full of song, speech and drama. Spread across 3 days, It’s an amalgamation of experiences in an extremely pivotal and transformational cycle of my life.Its contents? 3 acts and 6 parts. Act #1 will be available on the 13th, Act #2 on the 14th, and the penultimate, Act #3, on the day of Dussehra- the 15th of October 2021. It’s my Leela, it’s your Leela, it’s everyone’s Leela.
