Solomon had tremendous wisdom and experienced God's presence in ways that few others have.  Yet, later in life, he foolishly led Israel into idolatry.  There are at lest three warnings from Solomon: we must not neglect scripture or dismiss it as not applicable to us, we are all at risk for creating and worshipping idols, and we will all fail without Jesus.
