With my eyes shut the sounds around me intensified. Between the squishing,

and creaking, and oozing I began to notice a terrible pulsing almost like a heartbeat.

I could feel it in my chest, in the cuts on my side, in my very bones.It seemed to be quickening. And then, from somewhere in front of me,

I heard the horrible sound of meat tearing, a deep and wet sound,

followed by splashing liquid and a heavy thud.

I couldn’t help it, I opened my eyes.
