Jesus Surrendered to the Father

Matthew 26:39-42

Prayer of Surrender-
“God, there are things in my life that you are asking me to do, asking me to give up, in order to do your will. Reveal those things to me now, convict my heart and expose my rebellion. Holy Spirit you are willing. I give you permission to move in me. Jesus, I surrender.”

Prayer in Suffering-
“Jesus, give me the strength to endure the struggles of this world, but even more so- give me the strength to share my suffering with others around me. Give me boldness and humility to ask a brother in Christ to help carry my cross. Lord give me courage to step in the pain of other men and help carry their cross and endure their suffering so that we might fulfill the purpose you have called us to.”

Jesus Showed Compassion

Luke 23:28-43

Prayer of Compassion-
“Jesus, in the midst of my own pain, my own struggles, may my heart break for what breaks yours. Teach me to see others and treat others as you see and treat them. As I seek to love God and love my neighbor, give me courage to forgive others and to proclaim the Good News of Jesus to my family, to my community, and wherever else you may take me.”
