Food, drink, and sex are often considered as the objects for sins of indulgence. Rightfully much ink has been spilled, many sermons preached and even podcasts recorded on the dangers of sins like drunkenness and sexual immorality. But recently the first object has not received nearly the same level of scrutiny.

To put it bluntly, the sin of gluttony and its effects has been largely ignored by the modern church.
