What if you could ride for days across open prairieā¦
Every June in North Dakota, that dream becomes real.
In this episode, we sit down with Lacey to explore the Fort Seward Covered Wagon Train ā a week-long journey across the prairie that has been bringing together horses, wagons, riders, and families since 1960s.
Before cars and trucks the way to get someplace was by walking or by horses. Ā This wagon train remembers a time before gasoline engines and honors the real horsepower it took to get from point A to point B.Ā
And before gas stations & truck stops there were campfires, chuckwagon meals, stories, music, and laughter each evening.
How the wagon train began and how it runs today
What the terrain and daily travel look like
How to prepare horses and teams for the journey
What participants can expect
Why people return year after year
