“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV)
“But to keep them from spreading their propaganda any further, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in Jesus’ name again.” 18 So they called the apostles back in and commanded them never again to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him? 20 We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:17-20 (NLT)

CONVICTIONS ARE ESSENTIAL BECAUSE…
1. Convictions Shape the Person You Become
“…Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.” Hebrews 11:24 (NLT)
2. Convictions Promote Responsibility
“He chose to be mistreated with God's people instead of having the good time that sin could bring for a little while.” Hebrews 11:25 (CEV)
3. Convictions Define Your Core Values
“Moses knew that the treasures of Egypt were not as wonderful as what he would receive from suffering for the Messiah, and he looked forward to his reward.” Hebrews 11:26 (CEV)
4. Convictions Improve Your Vision
“It was by faith that Moses… kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27 (NLT)
