R has always been a distinguished letter in the world of education.
In the basic skills-orientated education program within schools the 3R’s have been known as reading, writing and arithmetic. However, the newest three R’s in education are rigor, relevance and relationships. The 3R’s of School Crises and Disasters: Readiness, Response, and Recovery.
Throughout history it has been said students have been taught three R’s. In this episode Glenn shares his passion for what he thinks the Social Studies teacher ought to be doing by using the four C’s.

2. Create
3. Collaborate
4. Communicate
By using the four C’s, teachers encourage kids to think historically and process information and content in ways that we haven’t asked them to do before.
The four C’s can also be the framework to help teachers find the balance between students memorizing content and doing something with the content they are learning.
