The Freak Show with J and D has taken yet another classic hiatus but your favourite freak show is back in action with probably one of the longest sat on episodes in history. Most importantly though, we're pumped to be back.

In this month's episode, we finally share the intriguing story of Aleksandr Karelin - the world's most feared and most dominant Greco Roman Wrestler... and let's face it, a bunch of other random facts and stories along with it.

The long overdue and almost completely lost episode is finally here. Thank you to all of our fans for "Barrying" with us on this. We're pumped to be back.

In this week's episode, one of the most controversial names in professional sports gets some much deserved love. 

Why is Barry Bonds - arguably the greatest technical hitter and one of the greatest players in MLB history - not seated in the Hall of Fame? 

Can alleged steroid use really negate the fact that Barry Bonds had a statistically insane career? Even when the years in question occurred after almost a decade of all star rankings, MVPs,  silver sluggers,  golden gloves and more?

Many sports fans hear the term "steroids" and completely dismiss the player, and rightfully so most of the time... but in this case, the reality is that with or without any alleged performance enhancers, Barry Bonds is an iconic MLB legend and his resume really speaks for itself. 

Grab an ice cold pop and get ready to learn all about the intricate history of Mr. Controversy himself. But don't ask any stupid questions... why? "because they're stupid".

Severe technical difficulties and scheduling conflicts essentially took us out of the game for a bit there, and nearly erased our entire Barry Bonds episode but in true J and D fashion we rambled on and overcame.

"A linebacker on skates"... 

You don't need to know much about hockey to appreciate that any player with that kind of reputation is probably going to be a must see. 

This week's legendary Freak Show athlete exceeded his reputation in every way, and is arguably one of the most astounding combinations of brutality and skill that the NHL has ever seen.  Standing at a healthy 6 feet 4 inches tall (WITHOUT skates), and weighing 240 lbs, he was a full tilt heavy hitting force to be reckoned with, and yet still managed to average 1.33 points per game during his 8 years with the Philadelphia Flyers. 

***Which by the way, placed him 4th all-time, trailing only Wayne Gretzky (1.92 PPG), Mario Lemieux (1.88 PPG), and Bobby Orr (1.39 PPG)*** 

Oh, that's right, he was much more than just a freight train in hockey pants, and although the  unfortunate series of concussions that would ultimately end his career became part of his legacy, the fact that he fundamentally reshaped the NHL in more ways than one, can not be ignored.  

This week, J and D come at you full speed with the intricate and intriguing story of the one and only Eric Lindros. From rejecting his first NHL contract, to being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and everything in between the blue lines.  The puck drops hard in this week's episode of The Freak Show with J and D.

Mirror, mirror on the wall... who's the Badr-est kickboxer of them all?

The "Golden Boy", "The Bad Boy", "The Cobra"... the head of the "Badr Army" himself. He is the most fearsome kickboxer to ever step into the ring, and this week J and D roundhouse your ear drums with the fascinating life and fighting career of the one and only Mr. Badr Hari. 

Standing at a scary 6 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing in at a dead serious 244 lbs, this is certainly not a man you would want launching a spinning heel kick at your head. With an amateur fighting record of 35 wins (25 by KO), and a career record of 126 wins (92 by KO), and only 17 losses (14 by KO), Badr Hari's name is synonymous with the sport of professional kickboxing and his reputation absolutely precedes him. His opponents were faced with two options; either get lucky and knock him out. or get a first class seat on the night night express in front of millions of people.

We're back! Welcome back! 

Season two is finally here, and at The Freak Show with J and D we go full "boar" baby (that is an intentional misprint, you'll see). What I mean is, there is no point in kicking off our sophomore season with just any old freak show athlete. We went straight to the "freak batter bakery" for this one as we launch into season two with none other than Mr. Bo Jackson himself.

Standing at a relatively modest 6 feet 1 inch tall, and weighing in at 227 pounds, Bo wasn't necessarily uncommon in stature, but his ability on the field(s) is unmatched even 30 years later. Drafted by the MLB and the NFL, and not only playing in both leagues simultaneously, but becoming an All-Star player in both leagues at the SAME TIME is an accomplishment that may never be witnessed again.

Discover the humble man behind the myths, the truth behind the legends, the Heisman trophy winning, MLB All Starring, the NFL Pro Bowler, the monster home run hitting, the fastest 40 running, and the multiple state championship title and record holdings that really solidify Bo Jackson's place at the top of the professional sports totem pole.

What's up everyone! 

D here again, and once again I am popping in with an update about the imminent arrival of the long awaited season two! 

We are officially in production on season two and it has been an absolute blast so far. Huge names this season, a shiny new segment that may just spark some serious debates down the line, more "stupid questions from the wife" and as always, little known facts and stories about some of the most legendary names in professional sports. 

Season two's launch date is TBA but we're on pace for early November. 

We will be back in your ear drums very soon everyone, so pack away those "baby chairs", stock the bar fridge, and we'll see you in podcast space very soon.

In the season one finale of The Freak Show with J and D, we dive deep into the incredible career of one of the most underrated and simultaneously beloved WWE superstars to ever step into the squared circle. 

Known as both "sexual chocolate" and "world's strongest man", Mark Henry wore a couple of different "singlets" during his 25 years at the top of pro wrestling's biggest brand, but none were as fitting as the latter. From Mark's debut to the day he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he showed the world what being an absolute freak show athlete was all about (one hand-bent length of rebar at a time).

Crack open some dark chocolate and a bottle of champagne, throw on some Barry White and find out why Mark Henry is, and will always be, the world's strongest man, to J and D.

As season 1 of The Freak Show with J and D approaches completion (only one more episode left!), J and D take the opportunity to go big, huge in fact, and dive into the world of professional weightlifting. 

Anyone who knows anything about the world of the big lifts knows that there is one name that stands out from the crowd. One name that symbolizes pure power. One name that has become synonymous with record lifts, and that name is: Lasha Talakhadze. 

Standing at 1.97 metres tall (6 ft 6 inches) and weighing a staggering 186 kilos (409 lbs) in his best years to date, Lasha Talakhadze holds the all-time record for the heaviest combined weight in any official weightlifting competition ever: 492 kilograms. 

This week, J and D discuss the fascinating and vast world of the big lifters, Lasha's lifetime goal of 500 kilograms, and learn all about the naughty lifting terminology that makes even the most composed adult crack a cheeky grin.
