This week on Freightmare Chronicles, we break down how rising fuel costs create a ripple effect across the entire transportation industry—from the carrier paying more at the pump to brokers adjusting rates and customers facing higher transportation costs.

We discuss how fuel increases impact carrier operating expenses, fuel surcharges, spot-market pricing, customer budgets, and ultimately the rates being quoted to move freight. When costs change quickly, everyone in the supply chain feels the pressure.

We also dive into why proactive communication is one of the most important tools in logistics. Whether you’re quoting a shipment, explaining a rate increase, communicating a delay, or dealing with an unexpected Freightmare, addressing the issue early can prevent a small problem from becoming a much bigger one.

Fuel prices may be outside your control—but how you communicate, quote, and respond when problems arise isn’t.

We dive into introducing the three collaborators of The Freightmare Chronicles.  We start by discussing the issues revolving around scamming and fraud in the transportation industry. The tactics that brokers, shippers and carriers are taking to combat this issue.
We explore what else carriers can do to in order to get more business from shippers and brokers by maintaining communication.
We discuss several Freightmares, one being a reefer issue and driver behavior.
