As we bury one of Kwaito’s biggest artists, Tokollo “Magesh” Shabalala, one of the members of TKZee who died on Tuesday after an epileptic seizure, in this hour, we pay tribute to a genre that has pioneered the new South African and how it has helped provide a blueprint for other genres to develop their own authentic sound. We take you through personal backstories, the culture and the origins of Kwaito.
