Scripture: Luke 11:5-13

Jesus shares the Lord's Prayer in response to the request of one of the disciples, “Lord, teach us to pray” (11:1).  His disciples were Jewish men;  They knew something about prayer.  They grew up going to the synagogue, hearing prayer, participating in prayer, praying over meals, etc. But they saw something different in the prayer life of Jesus.   

They saw Jesus looking forward to prayer. They witnessed Jesus enjoying prayer. They repeatedly saw Jesus pulling away to pray.  They beheld the transformative power flowing from him following times of prayer . . . “Lord, teach us to pray . . .” 

Pastor Paul shares the keys to an empowered prayer life in this sermon.
