In the lead up to the #cop26 conference in Glasgow, we are continuing with our campaign to meet real people making a real difference when it comes to climate change. Over the next three episodes, we are discussing the circular economy by meeting the upcyclers.
Recycling is not the solution to waste, reusing items that would otherwise end up in landfill is the solution to waste, this is known as upcycling.
Finally, a use for Grandma's old Englebert Humperdink records that maybe a bit kitsch for modern music tastes.
The great news is vinyl and other types of PVC are recyclable and can be recycled through many lifecycles.
Today's guests are Kylie and Matt from Smyle Designs in Brisbane who turn old records and CDs into jewellery.
In this episode you will learn:

Today's guest is Paul Shapiro, CEO and Founder of The Better Meat Co, Sacramento California. And he is here with a novel way of producing meat without harming the animal, via the Fungi Kingdom
Continuing our month of sustainability and preventing climate change did you know?
As the world has proven to be a tougher place to live in lately, one of the new hot button issues for environmentalists is the impact of livestock on the environment.
It seems that every day another report or new study is released that sheds light on new ways that raising livestock is negatively affecting the environment.
I know I used to not think twice about buying commercially prepared sandwiches of cold cuts at the grocery store for my lunch, but I sure do now.
The main take away points:
The future sounds delicious!

Today's tale is about one man, Tariq Fancy, founder of Rumie.org. His journey from corporate-financier to creating a startup with meaning and contributing back to the community.
It is also a eye-opening thinkpiece about greenwashing. So what is greenwashing?
What is Greenwashing?
Greenwashing is where a company, organisation, or even an individual goes out of their way to make themselves look as though they are taking a responsible attitude to the environment, even though they are not. In particular, In order to portray an image of environmental responsibility despite evidence to the contrary.
In other words, it is a form of ‘spin’ where those who are responsible for pollution and other environmental damage try to make themselves appear as responsible environmental stewards.
Greenwashing is a form of false advertising and should not be tolerated under any circumstance.
But unfortunately, it is a tactic that is utilised by many companies and individuals.
In this episode, I hope to show examples of Greenwashing and how it has been done.

Happy International Podcasts Day!
A break from the normal programming to give you food for thought. Why is podcasting so popular?
Because it taps into an innate region of our psyche, we need storytelling to make sense of the world.
Ages ago our ancestors gathered around the campfire to tell stories, these stories became mythology. This mythology defined communities, as they are a shared experience.
Fast forward to today, with a globalised world traditional folk tales are getting lost on message. With the power and reach of podcasts and a global village, a new mythology, a global mythology is been forged.
Welcome back on board the good ship SS Tomorrow for another series!
Today we are discussing the abstract, but the interesting topic of renewing our social contract, with three amazing guests with projects that are rebuilding humanity.
Amir Sheikh from 4B, is launching a social media platform where both sides of the debate are present. Popping the "Facebook" bubble that seems to be ripping our society apart.
Fatima Maldonado is assisting in building a blockchain-based social media platform. That decentralises data and makes the user experience (UX) fairer for everyone.
Finally an old friend, Coach Colin Thomson drops by to discuss the idea of blockchain democracy. Which will mean in the near future transparent elections and perhaps smaller government.
