This Sunday, we explored what happens next in 1 Samuel. After David says goodbye to his best friend Jonathan, he goes on the run for his life.
David is so afraid that he resorts to lying–multiple times–to save his neck. Later, he finds himself in a such a dangerous situation that he even pretends to be crazy and drools down his chin to get away unharmed.
When you think about how tense it must have been for David, and how it probably seemed like there were no other options, David's decision makes sense. We’ll talk more about his decision to lie on Sunday, and how it shows us how God works through flawed people.
Despite all of the messiness in his life, David is also an imperfect picture of Jesus.
You’ll also hear about how like David, we have a redeemer and a provider in God, and how even in the worst of times we can be secure and confident with our hope in Him.
