We resume our series Live by Faith - A Study of the Book of Romans by talking about something that's almost as fun as going to the dentist: the law. Paul uses the word for law 53 times in the ESV translation of his letter, and so far in our discussion of chapters 1-6, he has described how faith in Christ replaced works of the law in making humanity righteous in God's sight. Now in chapter 7, Paul presents another argument and an illustration of the function of the law and its impact on the life of a believer. The law does what the mirror does: it highlights the trouble spots that need fixing. But just as the mirror can't fix our cavities, neither can the law solve our sin problem. Someone else is needed. Join us as we dive into this difficult chapter together.
