In this episode, I discuss my personal struggles with religion being born in the American South in Middle Tennessee into a Protestant Christian culture. I struggled through my childhood and adult life to understand the logic and philosophy of the Christian religion. After bogus explanations, abuse, and cruel behavior from those who call themselves Christians, I began to resent the religion because of the falsehoods and what it represented. I had to learn to shed my hatred and anger of the subject which made a huge impact in my mental health throughout my life. I did this through reexamining my life experiences and adding humor to my religious encounters. I learned to look at the challenges the institution of religion provided as foundations for making me a better thinker, a more skeptical thinker, and guided me to my nuanced understanding of life. I hated religion so much I had become a devout atheist until I started understanding the foundations of quantum sciences. This episode reflects on the funny differences between Protestant religions and Catholicism through my experiences. This episode is not intended to change or convert anyone to any religion, just pointing out the observable differences that I found funny about the Christian religion.
