In John 4, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well—and what begins as a simple conversation about water becomes an encounter with the Savior.

The woman came to the well looking for something to satisfy a physical need, but Jesus revealed a deeper thirst within her soul. Like her, we often return to the same “wells”—relationships, achievement, approval, comfort, success, and other temporary things—hoping they will finally satisfy us. But Jesus offers something the world never can: living water that truly satisfies.

In this message, we explore how Jesus sees us fully, knows our deepest brokenness, and still offers grace. We’ll see how He meets us in our shame and isolation, calls us to worship Him in spirit and truth, and transforms our stories into opportunities to share the good news with others.

In Luke 7:36–50, Jesus encounters a sinful woman who enters a Pharisee’s home and responds to Jesus with extravagant love and worship. While the Pharisee looks at her past and sees someone unworthy, Jesus sees a sinner who has been forgiven.

Through this encounter, Jesus reveals the connection between forgiveness and love: those who recognize how much they have been forgiven will respond with greater love for Christ. The question is not whether we are sinners, but whether we recognize our need for the Savior.

In Mark 5, we encounter Jesus face-to-face with a man who seems completely hopeless—isolated, tormented, unclean, and unable to free himself. Yet Jesus demonstrates that He is more than powerful enough to overcome an entire army of demons, and compassionate enough to pursue the person everyone else had abandoned.

Because Jesus is the Son of God, He has both the power and the compassion to save. He alone can free us from the power of sin and death, cleanse what is unclean, restore what is broken, and bring the hopeless back to life.

But the story doesn't end with this man's deliverance. Jesus sends him home with a mission: “Tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” For those who have been rescued by Christ, our salvation isn't meant to be hidden. We have been delivered to proclaim what He has done.

Jesus has the power to save, and He has the compassion to save. The question is: have you experienced His rescue—and are you willing to tell others?

In Mark 2:1–12, we encounter Jesus up close and personal and see three things about who He is: purposeful, perceptive, and powerful. When a paralyzed man is brought to Jesus by four determined friends, Jesus addresses a need far greater than physical healing—his need for forgiveness. Through this encounter, Jesus makes clear that He has authority to forgive sins because He is the Son of Man, Lord of all.

Jesus still meets us in our brokenness, guilt, and shame. He is able to forgive every sin and bring new life to those who place their faith in Him. And for those who have experienced His forgiveness, the question remains: What are you willing to do to bring your friends to Jesus?
