It sure is tough being a kid, isn’t it? Sam and Raymond are reminded about that the hard way this time, as they cover the heavily polluted, dreamlike, and unexpectedly melancholic world of All Monsters Attack (1969). This week they recap the film, rediscover their childlike wonder, confront their own histories with bullying, and meet up with what has to be the most terrifying lawn ornament ever imagined, Also, they make public their deep, seething disdain for sitcom clip shows. I mean, c’mon–who even likes a clip show?

Kaiju assemble! Who would’ve thought that the Godzilla franchise was already ending back in 1968? Toho certainly did when they made the film Sam and Raymond will be focusing on for this episode: Destroy All Monsters (1968). This time they recap the film, design their own kaiju-centric theme parks, learn about the most clandestine and brutally effective branch of law enforcement in the world, and discuss the very best field trip ever taken. Also, they give mad props to their boy, Anguirus for one helluva showing in his second big battle. Watang, indeed.

Holy Toledo! Sam’s in the hosting seat, and Raymond hasn’t prepped anything for this quick and dirty check-in episode that sees the boys reminiscing about the past 8 episodes of the podcast: the highs, the lows, the laughs, the Giant Condors, and the tears. They discuss some of the many memorable Toho human characters; the many, many roles of Akira Takarada; and their favorite D-list kaiju; among other pressing topics.
