Publisher's Summary:
After flying for eight and a half years during high school and college, and participating in the Air Force ROTC Program at Ole Miss and The University of Texas, I felt I was well prepared for US Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training. In October 1965, I became a member of UPT Class 67C at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas. I can say, without reservation, that my year in UPT was the best year of my life! After graduation from Webb I was assigned the C-141 Starlifter jet transport aircraft. I went to C-141 Transition Training at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in November of 1966. Afterward, I was assigned to the 76th Military Airlift Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, South Carolina. I flew the C-141 for two years. In December 1968, I was ordered to go to Vietnam. My aircraft assignment was the AC-47 "Spooky" Gunship. I flew "Spooky" for eight months and was then reassigned to the EC-47 Electronic Countermeasures aircraft. I completed my one-year tour in that aircraft. When I returned home after my Vietnam tour, I separated from the Air Force and started looking for an airline job.

Great book I could put it down
Great book I could put it down. I picked up on Mike when he started flying to the pacific. I was stationed at Yokota at 5 years and installed the new Bak 9 barriers in almost every base in s=the southeast. Although he flew for MAC I gave everyone of the crews a flight fly over of what the BAk 9 operation was and looked it looked like from the approach. The cargo aircraft would not a bid concert to me although if we can prove they damage the webbing on landing it had to be removed and replaced. on bases like Yokota depending on traffic the barrier had to shut down until it could be replaced .Usually could take 30-45 minutes. Also he had some safe places to eat in Fassa. Joes bathhouse was believe it or not a very good restaurant. it burned down to the ground one night just mike went PCS back to the states. I was in the right seat when we left the port engine on take off. due to water in the fuel.. even after the engineer drained over a quart out of both tanks. That was a problem over there where we island hopped with support to most of the Island over there. We had the Marines watching our backs with Pakistani army doing the main security. Most people didn't 't know there was another war going started down there. Look up UNTEA.
