Create the Space with Cody Maher: How Your Home Is Either Helping You Grow or Holding You Back
We welcome back Cody Maher, feng shui consultant and home energy expert, for a conversation about how our living spaces influence our lives, our health, our relationships, and even our money.
Cody reflects on her own journey from a health crisis to discovering the power of feng shui. She set up her first feng shui bedroom for a husband and baby who did not exist yet, at 33, single, having just lost her large intestine, her career flying in a circus, and very nearly her life.
She got both! That experience shaped her belief that feng shui isn't about aesthetics; it's about designing spaces that help us thrive. "It's about how the space feels," she says, urging listeners to consider how their living areas support their current and future selves.
I shares my own experience of clearing out drawers and spaces in my home, and how that physical act led to shifts in my career and personal life. "Every night while I dreamed, I was sleeping on years of stress… by just emptying those drawers, everything shifted,"
Cody adds, "The closer something is to us, the more it's affecting us." That's exactly why the bedroom, where we spend so much of our lives, is prime territory for feng shui work.
We dig into the different types of clutter and the emotional ties we form with our belongings, from sentimental items to guilt clutter. "Sentimentality is just one form of clutter," Cody explains, encouraging listeners to get curious: "Let's get curious about how this is supporting you or not."
Cody founded Space with Cody on the belief that home is one of the most overlooked influences on a woman's health, relationships, and finances. She works with women navigating a big turning point, when the kids leave, the job changes, or the body does, and the house hasn't caught up yet.
