Welcome to Story River Fables (previously Waffle-Free Storytelling)

This tale came about as a result of a little challenge. A glorious friend said, "Make a story." I said, "OK, what about?" She said, "A girl who speaks to trees."

And that's how this story came about.

I never know what shape the tale will take. This one turned out to be an origin story, but also a story about the balance of power.

Anyway... that's my take. You might have a totally different take. That's the joy of fables.
