This week, Just Jae and Ryann talked about glamorizing in the media. From music to tv shows, they explored the fine line between artistic expression and glorifying certain subcultures and trends. Is it possible to bring awareness to an issue in today’s society without it being received as idolizing said issue (i.e drug use/addiction …among other things in the HBO series Euphoria)? Who does the responsibility fall on when it comes to deciphering the true meaning behind these mediums? The artist (when we say the artist, we mean that the artist having the responsibility to make their message as clear as possible…..yeah…we know…lol) or is it on the intended audience?
