Bio: Christopher M. Meissner, professor of economics, is an authority in comparative economic history, with an emphasis on international finance and international trade. In addition to his UC Davis faculty position, he is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He has held numerous visiting positions, including at the Paris School of Economics, the International Monetary Fund, and the Bank of England. In 2026-2027, he will be the Pitt Professor of American History at Cambridge University.
