In Ephesians 3:1-8 the apostle Paul writes that he has been commissioned to declare a great mystery: “the mystery of Christ” (v.4). This mystery, proclaimed through the gospel, announced that Gentiles were not only unified with Christ, but also unified with Jews. This “mystery” is that Gentiles are “fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel” along with God’s ancient people, the Jews (v.6).

This glorious mystery is good news for us today, empowering us to live clinging to God’s promises for us in Christ, working toward unity in the Church, and working for the Kingdom as we declare good news in word and deed, language and life.
