The parable of the prodigal son is found in the New Testament book of Luke, chapter 15. It is "glorious" because it clearly conveys a Christian message of redemption, second chances, and hope. God is there, always, waiting and wanting us to return to him for restoration, blessedness in this life, and eternal life with him. If he or she is still living, no one, no matter their descent into debauchery, is beyond hope.
