Dads are supposed to slay the dragons. Sweep the monsters from under the bed and banish them from the castle. If the moon begins to fall from the sky, some dad will climb up there and hang it back up. Dads can do anything. Solve any problem. Fix what’s broken. Until they can’t. In Mark 9, a father with a problem he cannot solve – a sick child – meets Jesus; and Jesus gives him a reason to trust God again.
