Failure does not have to be the final word over your life. In John 21, Jesus meets Peter in the aftermath of his denial. He doesn’t condemn or humiliate him, but heals his shame, restores their relationship and renews his calling. Jesus does not ignore our sin, but He uses the fire of failure to refine our character, deepen our dependence on Him and prepare us to serve others with greater humility and compassion.
