This is one of a few passages in scripture that speaks of the spiritual impact on the lives of children by the belief and practices of their parents. Unfortunately, it is not positive. Reflecting on the idolatry of God’s people earlier, the prophet Jeremiah says that “even their children remember the altars and Asherah poles (of the pagan worship)” of their mothers and fathers! What memories are we creating for our children spiritually? It was given on Father’s Day, 2020.
