Life's Happening Devotional

The God Who Shames Our Enemies

Listen Later

People can have it in for us so much that we sense it when we are around them or in prayer. You know it in your Spirit. And David was that kind of man with many enemies, and here he cried out to the Lord in this Psalm for help. He asked God to send help quickly; he said hasten to help me, Lord. David also asked God to cause his enemies to be confused, not just ashamed, but he wanted God to confuse them. Now, David was not praying out of anger, which is not what I am advocating, but enough is enough...we need God's deliverance based on his promised word.

God says he will curse those who curse us and fight against those who fight against us (Genesis 12:3; Psalm 35). So, David is praying according to the promises of God. Not out of a place of anger but a place of covenant. God is the Covenant Keeping God, David prays according to the Covenant of his
God. That Covenant is also ours today and so we cry out for speedy deliverance from our enemies. Those who hate us without a cause. Those who don't want to see us prosper, they PREY against us through praying against us. But this time, may they be put to shame and be confused.
We walk in the goodness and protection of God and his goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. Let every enemy take flight, and let our
deliverance be permanent in the name of Jesus. Amen.
