The God Who Sits With You in the Dark

There are moments in life when the lights go out—emotionally, spiritually, even physically—and you find yourself in a place that feels heavy and hollow. Maybe no one sees your tears, hears your anxious thoughts, or understands the weight pressing on your chest. But there is One who does.

God doesn't wait for you to pull yourself together. He doesn't stand at a distance with folded arms. He comes close. He sits with you in the silence. He holds you in the ache. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He's not in a hurry. He's not uncomfortable in your sorrow. He is present.

Even when you can't feel Him, He is there. When you don't know what to pray, He intercedes. When your strength is gone, His grace sustains. He doesn't always pull you out of the dark immediately, but He never leaves you alone in it.

Tonight, if you find yourself in a quiet place of pain or uncertainty, remember this: You are not abandoned. The God who created light also meets you in the dark—and He will carry you through.
