THE GODFARTHER OF THE DELTA BLUES fra 2014 er en opfølger til programmet ”Country Blues”. Programmet handler om møbel & musikhandleren H. C. Speir. Det var ham, der fandt bluesfolkene i Mississippi-deltaet - eller retter de fandt ham ved at opsøge ham i hans butik i Jackson, Miss Speir testede musikerne, før de store pladeselskaber indspillede dem

Så det er i virkeligheden H.C. Speir's fortjeneste, at vi kan høre så meget fed Delta Blues i dag, fortæller Radio Jazz studievært Kay Seitzmayer.

This broadcast “THE GODFARTHER of THE DELTA BLUES “ is a follow up to the previous programme, Country Blues, and is also from 2014. The broadcast is about the shop-owner and blues scout, H. C. Speir, who was selling furniture and records from his shop in Jackson Mississippi. The blues players came to him, and he tested them, before he sent them off to the big record companies. It is actually thanks to his doing that we can hear so much Mississippi Delta Blues today, the Radio Jazz host Kay Seitmayer tells.
