Happy New Year! After a short holiday break we are back for a whole new year of shows and special guests.

This week I was grateful to have Barnabas Piper, the son of author and theologian John Piper, join me as we started the new year off right, by discussing horrible movies. Before taping, I had just seen The Hobbit: THe Battle of Five Armies which we discuss as well as the Star Wars prequels, the Godfather trilogy (with an emphasis on Part 3), Lord of the Rings, Pixar movies and some others. I talk about the LOTR's use of "digital grading" and how The Hobbit should not have used it. Truly, if you are a film geek, you will love this episode.

If you don't care about films, feel free to skip to the 45 minute mark where I talk to Barnabas about his book, "The Pastor's Kid". We talk about how pastors can raise their kids away from the extremes of legalism and license. I also ask Barnabas what are ways that typical church members can reach out to pastors' kids who have been jaded for a multitude of reasons.
